About Beryl Maughan Hankin

I'm Beryl the proprietor and scribe of Guru Boutique. I also try to write a little bit on my own account. Guru is an independent, fair trade business established almost five decades ago and located in Darlington, UK. I work there with my best friends Tony and Colin. In addition to many other duties, I manage the blog and social media sites for the shop and for myself. Growing up back in the 1940s I never in my wildest dreams could have imagined such a thing as the internet, let alone a blog. However, here I am over seventy-five years later being able to communicate with the world via such things. To quote Jerry Garcia of The Grateful Dead, "What a long strange trip this has been" - and it's not over yet! (Guru Boutique's logo is based on a Mayan harvest deity and my own profile logo is by Mr Derek Hargreaves).

  1. We’re so pleased to have found these BEEBOMBS that we are using this pic as our temporary cover photo. The bees help our world so much that it’s excellent if we can help them in any way we can and this is just one way we can do that. Even if you don’t buy one of these and use it, just buy the right flower seed and sow them now so that our lovely bees can get busy doing what they do.
97% of natural bee and butterfly habitat has been lost in the UK since WW2. 97%. Ninety-seven per cent. It’s frightening and critical.
Any of us who want to help redress the balance can start to restore the lost wildflower habitat and make an important contribution to the biodiversity of Great Britain.
Beebombs (or your own choice of seeds) just need to be scattered onto the cleared ground to create a wildflower meadow that will #bringthebeesback#lovebees #loveflowers #lovethepanet #lovedarlo
