About Beryl Hankin

Guru Boutique was an independent fair trade boutique that existed from 1972 to 2022 in Darlington, UK. I'm Beryl Hankin and my lovely mother (Irene Maughan) created Gurus. Later we were joined by our best friends, Tony and Colin. Guru Boutique was never a business as such, rather a labour of love. We made so many friends over the years that we became a little tribe. We now have a motto which sums up what Guru managed to achieve and it is #gurutribeforever

  1. We’re so pleased to have found these BEEBOMBS that we are using this pic as our temporary cover photo. The bees help our world so much that it’s excellent if we can help them in any way we can and this is just one way we can do that. Even if you don’t buy one of these and use it, just buy the right flower seed and sow them now so that our lovely bees can get busy doing what they do.
97% of natural bee and butterfly habitat has been lost in the UK since WW2. 97%. Ninety-seven per cent. It’s frightening and critical.
Any of us who want to help redress the balance can start to restore the lost wildflower habitat and make an important contribution to the biodiversity of Great Britain.
Beebombs (or your own choice of seeds) just need to be scattered onto the cleared ground to create a wildflower meadow that will #bringthebeesback#lovebees #loveflowers #lovethepanet #lovedarlo
