We just made some new friends, Sarah and her mam!

when Sarah’s mam saw her in a selection of our clothes she commented that Sarah was an ideal Guru girl. We heartily agreed and she ended up modelling this groovy little poncho for us…

Guru Boutique was an independent fair trade boutique that existed from 1972 to 2022 in Darlington, UK. I'm Beryl Hankin and my lovely mother (Irene Maughan) created Gurus. Later we were joined by our best friends, Tony and Colin. Guru Boutique was never a business as such, rather a labour of love. We made so many friends over the years that we became a little tribe. We now have a motto which sums up what Guru managed to achieve and it is #gurutribeforever
